Planning & suitability
What ages are your trips suitable for?
All of them, in different ways — because we plan around your family. Tell us the ages of everyone travelling and we'll shape the itinerary, accommodation and activities to suit, whether you have toddlers, teenagers, or a mix across generations.
Do you arrange multi-generational trips?
Yes. Trips with grandparents, parents and children are one of the things we do best — we're used to balancing different energy levels and interests within one group so everyone gets something out of it.
Can you tailor a trip to our family specifically?
That's the whole idea. Nothing is off-the-shelf — a real person on our team builds each itinerary around what you tell us about your family, your dates, and how you like to travel.
Booking & payment
How does booking work?
After your enquiry, we'll talk through what you're after and send a tailored quote and itinerary. When you're happy, a deposit secures the booking and the balance is due before you travel.
How much is the deposit, and when is the balance due?
TBC — deposit amount and balance-due timing to be confirmed, and should match the Booking Conditions.
Is there a single-parent supplement?
TBC — confirm STC's policy. Many families travel with one adult, so it's worth stating clearly whether any supplement applies and how room arrangements work.
Is my money protected?
Yes. STC Escapes is a trading name of The Specialist Travel Consultancy Ltd, which holds ATOL 11054. Flight-inclusive holidays booked with us are financially protected, and you'll receive an ATOL Certificate.
While you're away
What happens if my child falls ill during the trip?
Tell us or our local contact straight away and we'll help you get the right care. We plan trips with health and wellbeing in mind, and we're on hand throughout. We also require adequate travel insurance for exactly these situations — see below.
Do we need travel insurance?
TBC — confirm whether insurance is a condition of booking or strongly recommended. Either way, we strongly advise a policy that covers your whole party and any activities included in your trip. It's your responsibility to make sure your cover is suitable.
Will someone be contactable while we travel?
Yes — you'll have the details you need before you go, and we're here if anything comes up.
Documents & requirements
What about passports and visas for the children?
Every traveller, including children and infants, needs a valid passport, and some destinations require visas. Requirements differ by country and nationality, so we'll give you general guidance — but it's your responsibility to make sure everyone in your party holds the right documents. Check well ahead, as children's passports can take time to arrange or renew.
Are there health requirements for some destinations?
Some countries recommend or require certain vaccinations. We'll flag anything relevant to your trip, and we'd always suggest checking current NHS/travel-health advice and speaking to your GP or a travel clinic in good time.
